Freeze Away Stubborn Fat Without Surgery or Downtime
Even with a dedicated diet and exercise routine, certain pockets of fat—like “love handles” or the lower abdomen—can be incredibly resistant to change. At Southern Indiana Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery, we offer CoolSculpting®, the world’s #1 non-invasive fat-reduction treatment. Using patented Cryolipolysis technology, we can target, freeze, and eliminate stubborn fat cells for a more sculpted, confident you.
How CoolSculpting Works: The Science of Cryolipolysis
CoolSculpting is based on the scientific principle that fat cells freeze at higher temperatures than surrounding tissues.
- The Treatment: A specialized applicator delivers precisely controlled cooling to the targeted area.
- The Elimination: Once the fat cells are frozen, they undergo “apoptosis” (natural cell death). Over the next several weeks, your body’s lymphatic system naturally processes and permanently flushes these cells away.
- The Result: Unlike weight loss, which only shrinks fat cells, CoolSculpting permanently removes them. Once they are gone, they are gone for good.
FDA-Cleared Treatment Areas
CoolSculpting is versatile and FDA-cleared to treat nine different areas where stubborn fat often resides:
- Abdomen: Addressing the “pooch” or spare tire.
- Flanks: Eliminating “love handles” or muffin tops.
- Submental Area: Reducing the “double chin” and sharpening the jawline.
- Thighs: Targeting both inner and outer thigh fat (saddlebags).
- Bra Fat & Back Fat: Smoothing the silhouette under clothing.
- Upper Arms: Reducing the appearance of “bat wings.”
- Under the Buttocks: Treating the “banana roll” for a smoother transition.
Why Choose SIAPS for Your CoolSculpting?
When you choose a board-certified plastic surgery practice for body contouring, you receive a level of expertise a standard med-spa cannot provide.
- The Surgical Perspective: Dr. Jackson and Dr. Grow are experts in body proportions. We perform a “360-degree” assessment to ensure your fat reduction looks natural and symmetrical, complementing your overall frame.

CoolSculpting vs. Weight Loss
Frequently Asked Questions
No. CoolSculpting is a body contouring procedure. It is designed for patients who are at or near their goal weight but have specific "problem areas" they cannot lose through traditional means.
When the cooling begins, you will feel intense cold and a slight pulling or tugging sensation as the vacuum applicator attaches. After about 5–10 minutes, the area becomes numb, and most patients find the rest of the treatment very comfortable.
Most patients see a 20-25% reduction in fat in the treated area per session. While some see their desired results after one visit, many choose a second session to achieve their ultimate "transformation" goal.
Virtually none. You can return to work, the gym, or your daily errands immediately after leaving our office. You may experience some temporary redness, swelling, or tingling in the treated area, but this typically resolves within a week.
You may start to see changes as quickly as 3 weeks after your treatment. The most dramatic results are typically seen at the 2-month mark, as your body continues to flush out the dead fat cells for up to 6 months.
